Jelly

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 4, 2026

Jelly is a personal AI assistant operated by Nicolas Francken ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Jelly iOS app, to the optional WhatsApp channel connected to the same account, and to this website.

Data we collect

How we use AI providers

The assistant is powered by OpenAI's models. To answer you, the content you send — messages, voice recordings (which are transcribed to text), and attached photos — is shared with OpenAI for processing, together with the assistant's context about your tasks, lists, journal, and notes. OpenAI processes this content to provide the service on our behalf and, under our agreement with them, does not use it to train their models. By creating an account and using the assistant you consent to this processing; you can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account in the app.

How your data is used

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your content for advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Analytics and crash reporting

We use PostHog (hosted in the United States) to understand how the app is used: events such as "a message was sent" or "a drawer was opened", tied to an internal user identifier, plus session replays in which sensitive text is masked. We use Sentry to receive crash reports so we can fix bugs. Neither is used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Service providers

We share data with the following providers, each only to perform its function for us: OpenAI (AI responses and voice transcription), MongoDB Atlas (database), Render (server hosting), Twilio (WhatsApp Business Platform), Apple (sign-in and push notifications), Google (sign-in and, if connected, Google Calendar), Sentry (crash reporting), and PostHog (product analytics). We do not share your data with anyone else, except if required by law.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in our database on MongoDB Atlas and processed on servers hosted by Render. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; data is encrypted in transit, and we rely on our providers' contractual safeguards for international transfers.

Google user data

Jelly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Calendar data is used only to display and manage your events inside the app — never for advertising, and never shared beyond the providers listed above.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account record and all content listed above are removed from our systems.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the EU's GDPR and Argentina's Personal Data Protection Act (Law 25.326) — you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Contact us at hello@tryjelly.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Argentina, that is the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP).

Children

Jelly is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet the minimum age shown on the App Store listing to use it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note it in the app. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
